The Shallon Winery, established in 1977, is a fully functional winery, with a full wine laboratory as well as an elegant tasting room that is open to the public. The winery is located in downtown Astoria, two blocks from the Columbia River Maritime Museum and across the street from the Heritage Center. The actual building which houses the winery was built in 1922, and though it has no actual windows, three murals depict fantastical representations of what could be seen if a window existed, including Fort Astoria and the Hawaiian Islands.
